The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon [book]

My sister and I tried to read this book once in our high schools book club. The first time we couldn't get into it. Last I thought winter we should we give the book another chance. The story centers around Natasha a girl originally from Jamaica who lives in New York, with her family and their scheduled to be deported that night. Natasha hasn't lived there since she was eight.

David our male character comes a Korean family his parents immigrated from Korea.  All the parents want for David and his brother is to provide them with a better life than what they had. Natasha meets Daniel after he saves her from getting run over by a car.

The two put together makes for a sweet relationship. The two are the opposite attract sort of couple. David is a dreamer and more philosophical. Natasha being more scientifically minded.

I like that the book takes place from multiple perspectives. You get to know all the characters and their stories. I also like the relationship dynamic between Natasha and Daniel.  I like the way the book is written and how it explains the history of some things. The character of Daniel is relatable to me because of the way he looks at life and the way he is patient with Natasha.
